Lord, Who You Say, I Am. The Lord says, I am the song of His heart.
For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT)
 
Where is God living?
 
How has God shown His interest in me?
 
What is God's response to me?
 
What is my response to God's interest in me?
 
What is God's response to Who He says, I am?
 


The songwriter comes face to face with the struggles of her own identity in a society that falls short of encouraging and positive feedback -- being overly critical, competitive and judgemental. In the ebb and flow of life she finally voices the lies her inner monologue says; I am not enough, I will never measure up and pleads to God to remind her once again, Just Who I Am.



What does it mean, God is living among you?

What does it mean, God is a mighty savior?

What does it mean, God will delight in you with gladness?

What does it mean, God's love will calm all my fears?

Nothing could be more wonderful than to know that God is living among us. He is ever present with us where ever we go. He surrounds us. He goes before us and behind us. He leads us along the right path. Nothing can separate us from His love. He is a mighty Savior. He is our rescuer; He sought us out and brought us to himself. He calls us His own. His thoughts towards us are pure joy. He thinks the best of us. He knows everything about us and recognizes our potential and is patient. God is pure love and steadfast in character that gives us the confidence to trust Him. We can rely upon His presence to lead us through every circumstance, knowing He is Good in all things.

How does knowing the depth of God's love for you combat the voices in your mind that lie to you?



Our God has many things to say about, "Who I Am", in spite of how we may be feeling at the time.  We may not feel loved but undoubtedly we are loved. We may feel weak, but His strength is strong in our weakness. And when we fall short of all expectations and when everything is wrong and we don't feel we belong, We Are Forever held As His Own; So We Believe.

God's love has the power to break the hold of false beliefs that paralyze us. His love frees us to, know and believe, what He says is true. So we must hold His word in our hearts and believe.



And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)

What is God saying about WHO YOU ARE when He says, nothing in creation can separate us from the His love?

 



God is saying with power and authority that His love is stronger and more powerful than anything imaginable -- His love will never fail. We can depend upon God to be true and faithful to protect and guard our days against any fear or worry that we may be facing. He is making it clear to us that the depths of His love is greater than any power above or below. For we are God's treasure, His delight. We've been chosen as His child that we may share all that He has to offer.


I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Ephesians 4:13 (ESV)

What can you say to yourself about what you can do?


But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)

What can you say to yourself when you feel weak and out of your depth?

 


Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

What can you say to yourself when you are troubled and heavy hearted?
 


He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength...but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:29, 31 (ESV)

What can you say to yourself when you're tired and ready to give up?
 


I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Ephesians 3:16-17 (NLT)

What can you say to yourself about your faith in Christ?
 


Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9 (ESV)

What can we say to ourselves about, Who I am?

As we trust God and the infallible truth about who He is, we can understand more clearly our value and worth in His sight. We can not help but come to know that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. Believing His grace is sufficient for us in all circumstances; for His power is made perfect in our weakness. We can also realize God's forever abiding presence so we can trust Him without fear, for He will hold us up with His right hand. So we must always remember, don't give up, God will give us might when we are weak and He will renew our strength as we lean upon Him. So according to God's riches, He will grant us strength by the power of His Spirit, to our inner being, so that Christ will always dwell in our hearts through faith.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not lack faith or be dismayed -- The Lord God is with you where you go.



We conclude, the only thing that matters, Lord, is what You think of me. Everything of worth the Lord holds dear and precious. So all we can say, in you Lord I find my value, my worth, my identity and I lay everything that I am at your feet.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1 (ESV)

What does it mean to present your bodies as a living sacrifice?

What is meant by your spiritual worship?

When everything is said and done and as we appeal to the mercies of God, we must surrender our bodies; our life, our heart, our dreams, our future to God's care and direction. Everything He has made us to be is for His service; for His Honor and Glory. Therefore, as we submit our life's course to the authority of God, is ultimately, our spiritual worship. And this must begin by loving the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind.

 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37 (ESV)
